The " Cool Factor" can be defined as an action or attitude an individual develops simply because they believe it is cool and that it will therefore increase the amount coolness they posses.
I believe the 'cool factor' is almost becoming a subculture- it is the kind of kid who tries to take the coolest parts of all the other subcultures going around at the time - So they become the hippest hipster, sceneist scencester, most alternative kid of them all - they are the epitomey of coolnes in dressing , attitude, music and movie taste, and ofcourse they surround themselves with cool factor obessed friends who they can do cool stuff with. Damm they are cool. Each such an indivisiual. This is ofcourse if your defintion of the word 'indivisual' means the same as everyone else.
Ofcourse some of my peers just have one thing they do because of the cool factor, ie smoking. In this day and age everyone is more than aware that smoking kills you, and not quick like a gun shot kills you, it painstakingly strips your dignity away before a long agonizing journey to the the light. Yet three quarters of my friends smoke, so why is this? Is it because they are blissfully unaware that there is an decapitated foot on the packet, dead people on a their television screen, and their grandpa dying in hospital? Is possible that they missed that health lesson in school, every single year? No, it is simply because of the cool factor - in other words they think by smoking they will looker cooler to their peers.
Fact - Smoking is not cool, there is nothing you can possibly say or do to make it cool. Fact - not smoking makes you cool and you smell better too.
The "Cool Factor" is taking over and i don't like it. The real cool people and those who are incredibly cool but don't aim to be and inspire you with that fact. I would like to meet more of those kind of people.
